REAL Houston hosted our event on Tuesday, July 29 at 5:00 PM at The Ion for “Navigating Your Clean Energy Career” a special program by REAL Houston designed for interns and early-career professionals looking to build a meaningful future in clean energy.

Attendees heard from leaders from Leeward Renewable Energy— Mark Dypiangco, Senior Director of Development, and Omar Aboudaher, Senior Vice President of Development—who shared personal insights and career lessons from their journey through the renewable energy industry. The discussion was moderated by Kay McCall, Chair of the REAL Houston Board and a seasoned clean energy executive.

Attendees walked away with actionable advice on navigating uncertainty, embracing growth opportunities, and building resilience in a rapidly evolving industry. Following the discussion, guests had the opportunity to explore the various career paths available in our growing industry by networking with early-to-mid-career professionals who shared insights into their chosen careers – from what their day-to-day looks like, to what their mid-to-long-term career trajectory may be. From development, project finance, origination, human resources, title, project management, operations, and more – attendees heard first-hand what a career in clean energy can look like! These conversations provided an up-close look at the variety of roles shaping the industry—and how you can chart your own path forward.
