The Backbone of The Grid: Transmission Explained

On July 13, 2023 REAL Houston hosted the latest installment of our Lunch and Learn series, The Backbone of The Grid: Transmission Explained.

We were privileged to have Amanda Flores, Project Development Director at Grid United, as our featured speaker. In this role, Amanda leads the development of the 278-mile Southline Transmission Project in New Mexico and Arizona. Prior to joining Grid United, Amanda was responsible for stakeholder relationships, land acquisition, permitting, and overall project management of 3,000 MW of wind, solar and battery storage projects at ConnectGen. Prior to that, Amanda worked at Clean Line Energy Partners where she supported the development of the 150-mile Western Spirit transmission line and associated 1,000 MW wind project. Amanda holds a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from Rice University.
